Welcome and thank you for your support
Das Einzige was schon immer war und immer "sein" wird ist die Veränderung.
Es gibt dabei kein Ob sondern nur ein Wann und in welcher Geschwindigkeit.
Hertha BSC "under construction"!

Welcome, but how do you become a Hertha supporter in Glasgow?GlasgowHertha hat geschrieben: ↑08.09.2023, 20:45I’m Stephen (40) and along with friends Matt, Mark and Chris we are proud founding members of a Hertha supporters club in Glasgow. Re: Mitglieder stellen sich vor
Thank you for the welcome Sir
There’s no one defining reason as to why Hertha but lots of small things at play. As a group of four couples looking for a city break this year we quite literally pulled Berlin out of a hat, whilst the wives do their thing, us boys will naturally go to the football.
There’s a growing disconnect between us as a working class football supporter and the Clubs in the UK, also we have an admiration as it is the opposite in Germany. Within Glasgow it’s well known of the Rangers/Hamburg and Celtic/St Pauli links and as we are a mixed group of Rangers/Celtic/West Ham supporters so we wanted to break away from that, Hertha appealed.
I’m a Rangers season ticket holder and watched as my Club made its way from the top to the bottom tiers of Scottish football then all the way to the Europa League Final-I’d like to play a small part in supporting Hertha back to the Bundesliga and into Europe. It will be impossible to replicate the love I have my own Club but in a way I’m excited to watch and enjoy football without the emotional stress!!! Also to take in a beautiful city like Berlin.
My hobby away from football is lawn bowls, it’s a traditional sport here in Scotland and mostly the elderly play it once retired. Our own Mearns Bowling Club’s membership is dwindling and ultimately the Club will most likely be sold off for property development through time, we intend to use the club facilities (cheap bar prices) to attract other like minded football supporters in and it keeps us going that bit longer-whilst we are only 4 Hertha supporters at the minute, this can grow and it would be great to travel to a game on a regular basis.
I’m aware of the UK Hertha supporters club and they operate from London, it would be great to also connect with them and organise trips in unison.
Yes please look out for the Scottish flag, we are in Block O for the game next weekend!!!
Aye

Re: Mitglieder stellen sich vor
Thank you for this backgound information and welcome to our blue and white world along the old lady Hertha.
What a great idea you had and I hope you will really enjoy your trip to Berlin and to the Olympic Stadium.
Unfortunately it will not be sold out against Eintracht Braunschweig by far, but however the support of our Ostkurve should be worth the visit anyway.
From Block O you will have a very good overview to the field as well as to the supporters.
I hope you will have a lot of fun and a safe trip to Berlin and back home. Before and after the game you surely will have a lot of opportunities to find contacts to other supporter clubs of Hertha BSC.

Re: Mitglieder stellen sich vor
Thanks for the information for next weeks game, yeah it won’t be a sell out but still the atmosphere will be good and the climb up the table starts!!! Our flag arrives on Monday and in the check out process I inadvertently purchased a beach towel with the same Hertha design! I guess that’s coming to Spain next month

Re: Mitglieder stellen sich vor
Even though I support that other team there: Welcome to our forum!
We had more or less regular meetings among members of the former forum (called hertha-inside) around 10-13 years ago and I remember a Rangers fan joining us on 1-2 occasions and we got along very well. Enjoy your trip and hopefully it will become a regular thing.

Re: Members introduce themselves
Amazing weekend in Berlin, totally sold on the German football experience.
Thank you for the warm welcome and we will of course be back, a dominating and much needed win today-the result was never in doubt from kick off.
You have a fantastic Club with passionate supporters, we look forward to flying our flag again in the near future!
Yours Aye,
GlasgowHertha

Re: Members introduce themselves
Glad you enjoyed it and that Hertha BSC was able to make us all happy with a win. Have a safe journey back home!
